South African artist Olefied Khetha has teamed up with award-winning rapper Big Zulu for the “iStep Father Remix,” giving new life to Khetha’s popular song about love, family and the journey of being a stepfather. The highly anticipated remix is set to drop this Friday, 2 October 2026.

The original version of “iStep Father” has already reached millions of streams, showing how much the song has connected with listeners. Khetha has also built a strong catalogue, with more than 20 million all-time streams across all his releases, including popular songs such as “Aphiwe” and “Isthombe.”

Now, Big Zulu joins Khetha on the remix, bringing his own voice and style to the song and helping take its message to an even bigger audience.

At the heart of iStep Father is a love story. The song is dedicated to a woman Khetha fell in love with who happens to be a single mother.

The message is simple: when you fall in love with a woman who has a child, you should also be willing to love and support her child.

For Khetha, being a stepfather should not be seen as something embarrassing or negative. Instead, it is about choosing to be there, taking responsibility, and becoming a positive father figure in a child’s life.

Through the song, Khetha hopes to encourage more men to change the way they look at step fatherhood.

“You are not stupid for being a stepfather. You simply fell in love with a woman who has a child. There is nothing wrong with that. Be there for her and be the best stepfather you can be.”

BIG ZULU JOINS THE STORY

Big Zulu brings his powerful voice and storytelling style to the remix. His contribution adds a fresh feel to the song while keeping the original message at the centre.

The collaboration brings together two artists known for telling real stories through their music, making this a special release for both Khetha and Big Zulu.
