On Friday 13 November, movie lovers are invited to dive into a beloved 1980s classic that blends romance, fantasy, and comedy. Splash follows the story of a hardworking New Yorker who falls head-over-heels in love with a mysterious woman, the girl of his dreams. There’s one big complication though: he’s fallen hook, line and sinker for a mermaid who rescued him from drowning as a child. Directed by Ron Howard, the film stars Tom Hanks, Daryl Hannah, John Candy, and Eugene Levy.

The film follows a newcomer at a Catholic school who falls in with a trio of outcast teenage girls. Together, they begin practicing witchcraft, conjuring spells and curses against those who have wronged them – be they teachers, rivals or meddlesome parents – only to discover that dark magic also carries dangerous consequences. Directed by Andrew Fleming, the film stars Robin Tunney, Fairuza Balk, Neve Campbell, and Rachel True.
