Nigerian superstar Mayorkun celebrates his roots and a decade in music with the release of the official music video for “Kaluba.”
Mayorkun continues his anniversary year with the release of the official music video for his latest single, “Kaluba.”
Meaning “money” in Nigerian slang, “Kaluba” is a celebration of movement, culture and personal growth. The accompanying video sees Mayorkun back home, reconnecting with his roots and taking a moment to celebrate how far he has come.
Musically, the record draws from the foundations of Nigerian Afrobeat, pairing an energetic, dance-driven sound with the subtle storytelling that has become part of Mayorkun’s signature. Like much of his music, the song is influenced by his real-life experiences, while leaving room for listeners to connect with it in their own way.
“Kaluba” arrives during a significant year for Mayorkun, marking 10 years since “Eleko” introduced him to the world in 2016. The milestone will also be celebrated with an anniversary EP, alongside concerts and tours currently in the works.
Following “B4 B4,” his collaboration with Davido and FOLA, “Kaluba” marks another step into a new chapter for Mayorkun — one that looks back at his journey while keeping his focus firmly on what comes next.
As Mayorkun celebrates a decade of music, “Kaluba” is a reminder of the journey, the roots and the fans who have been part of it.
“Kaluba Music Video” is out now.
