SIMMY OPENS THE DOORS TO “FAIRYLAND” WITH A TRIPLE DROP THAT INTRODUCES A NEW CHAPTER IN HER MUSICAL JOURNEY

There is something about returning home that makes you realise just how far you have travelled.

For Simmy, the journey from the homestead in Tugela to the bright lights and fast pace of city life has shaped not only the woman she has become, but the artist she continues to evolve into. It is this evolution that sits at the heart of her forthcoming album, Fairyland a body of work that feels familiar, yet different. It is Simmy as we know her, but perhaps not the version we have come to expect.

On 4 September 2026, Simmy will open the doors to Fairyland with a special triple drop, releasing three songs that serve as the first introduction to what promises to be one of the most exciting chapters of her career.

The triple drop brings together three different sides of Simmy’s world Siy’ Zinkanyezi featuring Zee Nxumalo, Bawo and One More Time. While each song carries its own identity and story, together they begin to paint the larger picture of Fairyland: an album that explores love, gratitude, growth, faith, relationships, womanhood and the many worlds Simmy now finds herself moving between.

For the girl from Tugela, the city has become a second home. She has learned its language, its rhythm, its chaos and its beauty, while never completely losing the girl who grew up surrounded by the familiarity of home. That duality has found its way into Fairyland.

This is not necessarily the Tugela Fairy we have become accustomed to.

There is still the softness. Still the soul. Still the unmistakable Simmy. But there is also a newfound freedom in the music a willingness to experiment, to step outside of what is expected of her and to allow different sounds, people and experiences into her world.

Fairyland is a reflection of an artist who has lived a little more, seen a little more and allowed herself to become more.

The triple drop gives listeners their first glimpse into that world.

Siy’ Zinkanyezi, featuring rising star Zee Nxumalo, introduces a fresh energy to Simmy’s sound, bringing together two distinctive voices and generations of South African women in a collaboration that feels both unexpected and natural.

Bawo takes a more spiritual turn. Rooted in the Swati-Zulu expression of gratitude to God, the song speaks to those moments when words simply aren’t enough when all you can do is look back at the journey and be thankful, while continuing to hold onto the promises that carried you through.

Then there is One More Time, adding another layer to the emotional world of the album and reminding us of Simmy’s ability to tell stories that feel personal, intimate and deeply human.

But if the triple drop is the introduction, Fairyland is the full story.

The forthcoming album promises to take listeners further into Simmy’s world, with new collaborations, unexpected features and sounds that may challenge what audiences have come to associate with the “Tugela Fairy.” There are familiar elements, but there are also surprises moments that reveal a Simmy who is not afraid to explore, collaborate and grow beyond the boundaries of what she has previously created.

It is perhaps this balance between where she comes from and where life has taken her that makes Fairyland so special.

The homestead girl from Tugela is still there. She is simply living a little differently now.

She has found her way through the city without allowing it to erase home. And somewhere between the two worlds, Fairyland was born.

With the triple drop arriving on 4 September, Simmy invites listeners into the first chapter of this new world one that is deeply rooted in her story, but not confined by it.

Fairyland is Simmy stepping into the next version of herself.

And if these first three songs are anything to go by, this may very well be some of her best work yet.
