Boipelo Mooketsi, South African Broadcaster, MC, Voice Over Artist, Digital Host and Producer has scooped the ‘Entertainment Radio Presenter of The Year’ award win at the Basadi In Music Awards that recently took place.
Boipelo received her well-deserved win for her immaculate work within the Radio space and is still beaming with joy from it.
The versatile media personality was nominated among other names such as Lebo Maoela (Lesedi FM), Lerato Kganyago (Metro FM), Bolele Polisa (947) and Lebo Ndiya (Motsweding FM).
Currently the host of the ‘5 After Hours’ show on 5FM every Monday to Thursday from 10PM until 1AM, Boipelo continues to fly the flag even higher, not just for herself, but for her hometown Kimberley too. She also brings her youthful energy on 5FM’s ‘Vibe Check’ – where she serves as a Digital Host and Producer.
Says an excited Boipelo: “Winning this award and getting recognition for the work I do means the world to me because I put my heart and soul into it. This is also a reflection of the giant community of people behind me who all came together and supported me on this journey. Boipelo is definitely one of South Africa’s media personalities to watch, as she continues to make her undeniable mark – and the amount of voting support received for her award nomination win proves this.
About Boipelo:
Her broadcasting journey began in 2017 at VOW FM, where her work ethic earned her a weekday daytime show, Area Code, followed by hosting The VOW Top 40 Chart Show. She later gained freelance experience at YFM before securing her commercial radio breakthrough in 2021.
Beyond radio, Boipelo is a sought-after Master of Ceremonies, having hosted major events such as Strawberry Lips “I Love Mwah” Experience (2025), Diamonds and Dorings Music Festival (2024 & 2025), Auto Engage Youth Empowerment Programme by merSETA (2025), the Connie Chiume Film Festival (2025) where she also served as Junior Producer and the Phakama Women’s Academy Graduation (2024).
As a Voice Artist, her credits include work for ABSA Jasiri Awards, Nedbank, Aquafresh, SABC, BT Ngebz City and Trace Africa.
Boipelo’s digital and live event coverage at 5FM includes major cultural platforms such as Ultra South Africa, Zee Nation Fest, The Hip Hop Floor and Never Rush A Sunday.
Behind the scenes, she has worked as a Junior Producer on the ABSA Champagne Festival (2025), ABSA Jasiri Awards and the Connie Chiume Film Festival.
An AFDA and Phakama Women’s Academy graduate, Boipelo is a Radio Personality of the Yearwinner at the Northern Cape Awards (2021), a three-time South African Radio Awards nominee and former host of the Northern Cape Awards (2020).
