The event marked not only the end of the tournament but also the culmination of a campaign that celebrated football, culture and human connection through the brand’s global platform, “No Lay’s, No Game.”

Hosted by award-winning television presenter Kuhle Adams, the vibrant evening unfolded against the creative backdrop of Sandton, where guests enjoyed an immersive football experience from start to finish. Fans participated in score prediction challenges for the chance to win exclusive signed prizes, while lively halftime entertainment featured engaging football themed games, hot takes and audience discussions. DJ Oara kept the atmosphere alive on the decks, ensuring the energy remained high throughout the evening.

Building on the spirit of Lay’s Opening Match celebration in Johannesburg, the Finale Watch Party invited fans not to relive history, but to witness it being made in real time. From the opening whistle to the final kick, guests celebrated every moment together, sharing the excitement, anticipation and emotion that only football can inspire.

The experience extended well beyond the ninety minutes on the pitch. Guests enjoyed big-screen viewing, immersive football activations, interactive fan experiences and live entertainment, alongside a curated culinary journey inspired by seven countries Argentina, Norway, France, England, South Africa, Spain and Morocco keeping the excitement alive from kick-off through to the final whistle.

“Tonight was the perfect way to close out our FIFA World Cup 2026™ journey,” said Bongumesiya Simelane, Assistant Brand Manager for Lay’s South Africa. “We began this tournament in Johannesburg celebrating a significant chapter in football history, and we’re ending it in the same city, surrounded by fans who truly embraced what this campaign has always been about football and every unforgettable moment that comes with it.”

Simelane added that the Finale Watch Party served as the perfect conclusion to a campaign centred on bringing people together.
“From the opening match to tonight’s final whistle, we’ve watched fans unite through shared emotion, unforgettable memories and, of course, shared snacks. That’s the heart of ‘No Lay’s, No Game’. Football’s greatest moments are made even more special by the people you experience them with.”

The evening reflected the complete journey of Lay’s x FIFA World Cup 2026™ campaign from celebrating South Africa’s proud football legacy at the opening event to witnessing Spain crowned the new FIFA World Cup™ champions. Throughout the tournament, Lay’s created moments that brought people together, reinforcing football’s unique ability to unite communities across generations, cultures and cities.

As the final whistle sounded and celebrations erupted, one thing became clear: whether at the opening kick-off or the tournament’s closing match, Lay’s once again demonstrated that football’s biggest moments are always better when shared. And no matter where the FIFA World Cup™ travels, its place in the hearts of South African fans remains as strong as ever.

Because when it comes to football’s greatest stage, there’s one simple truth: No Lay’s, No Game.
