Mrs South Africa brought together sport, connection and women’s empowerment at its annual Golf Day, hosted at Glendower Golf Course in Johannesburg on Friday, 29 May 2026.
Combining a passion for golf with a commitment to empowerment and charitable impact, Mrs South Africa powered by iME – held the annual event which welcomed 120 golfers, contestants, sponsors, friends and family for a day of networking, activities, prizes and the upcoming semi-finalist showcase.
Ranked sixth in South Africa, the picturesque Glendower Golf Course provided the ideal setting for friendly competition, camaraderie and celebration. The day concluded with skills workshops, motivational talks, prize-giving and a buffet dinner. Mrs South Africa’s semi-finalists also played an active role in the event’s success, joining reigning Queen Carika Bebb and an accomplished community of women from diverse backgrounds.
“Our annual Golf Day remains one of the highlights of the Mrs South Africa calendar and reflects the multi-dimensional nature of our programme,” says Mrs South Africa CEO Joani Johnson.
“The event celebrates the women within our programme and the strong sense of community they build through the Mrs South Africa journey. It also creates valuable opportunities for semi-finalists to connect with sponsors, expand their networks and engage with influential leaders and mentors.
“Beyond the experience itself, we aim to equip our contestants with practical skills, confidence and exposure that will support them long after the competition concludes.” Johnson says the impact of the event extended far beyond the golf course.
“The day created an exceptional platform for networking and meaningful moments with family and friends, while also giving contestants practical experience and insights that will benefit them throughout their personal and professional journeys,” she says.
Often described as an MBA of life, Mrs South Africa creates opportunities for contestants and their communities that extend far beyond the competition itself. Events such as the annual Golf Day form part of a broader journey focused on confidence, leadership and meaningful connection throughout the competition season.
Semi-finalists also heard from respected industry professionals during a series of workshops designed to support them ahead of the judging process.
Through panel discussions facilitated by former and current Mrs South Africa title holders and mentors, participants received practical guidance on topics ranging from styling and interview preparation to stage presence and personal branding.
The sessions come ahead of the first-ever semi-finalist showcase event on Friday, 3 July 2026, where the finalists for the 2026 competition will be announced.
“As an organisation, the Mrs South Africa Golf Day reflects our commitment to collaboration, community and meaningful empowerment,” concludes Johnson. “Beyond raising funds for a worthy cause, the event created space for connection, learning and shared experiences that continue to shape confident leaders and change-makers.”
