Renowned gospel ensemble Joyous Celebration is set to celebrate a major milestone in South African gospel music with the launch of its 30th instalment, marking 30 years of impact and musical excellence.
To commemorate this milestone, Joyous Celebration will embark on the Joyous 30/30 Nationwide tour, a year-long celebration that honours the legacy of the brand while introducing new musical experiences for audiences across the country.
The tour will officially kick off in Johannesburg, Gauteng, with a special run of performances at Joburg Theatre from 30 April to 03 May 2026. The Johannesburg shows will mark the first leg of the nationwide tour and set the tone for a powerful celebration of gospel music, faith and community.
Over the past three decades, Joyous Celebration has become one of Africa’s most influential gospel platforms. The ensemble has played a significant role in shaping the local gospel industry while discovering and nurturing some of the country’s most celebrated gospel artists.
The Johannesburg shows will celebrate this legacy while introducing audiences to three unique musical experiences designed to honour the past, celebrate the present and spotlight the future of gospel music.
Through its talent discovery programme, Joyous Celebration will introduce and showcase emerging gospel artists, continuing Joyous Celebration’s long-standing commitment to discovering and nurturing new voices in the gospel music industry.
This year will feature a special night of fashion, glitz and glam, dubbed ‘Crowned in Glory’ – a celebration of divine majesty, musical excellence, and the spirit of worship that has defined Joyous Celebration for decades.
The Rewind Show will take audiences on a nostalgic journey through some of the most iconic songs from the Joyous Celebration catalogue, featuring performances from Joyous Celebration alumni who have been part of the ensemble’s journey over the past three decades.
The Friends of Joyous experience will bring together Joyous Celebration alongside other leading gospel artists for a powerful collaborative celebration of faith, music and unity.
According to Lindelani Mkhize, reaching the 30th installment is a significant milestone for the brand and for the gospel music community. “Reaching our 30th installment is a remarkable moment for Joyous Celebration. For three decades the platform has created opportunities for extraordinary talent while bringing audiences together through gospel music. The 30/30 Tour allows us to celebrate this journey with the many supporters who have been part of our story over the years,” says Mkhize.

Tickets for the Johannesburg shows are available through Webtickets outlets from R350, and audiences are encouraged to secure their seats early for what promises to be a memorable celebration of gospel music.
As Joyous Celebration embarks on its nationwide tour, the 30th installment will honour its remarkable legacy while continuing to inspire the next generation of gospel artists and audiences across South Africa.
