This past Saturday, 27 December, the Black River Park Sports Field transformed into an exciting summer playground as The Balcony Mix Africa (TBMA) delivered a cultural showcase. The eagerly awaited festival once again positioned South Africa as a global rhythm powerhouse, uniting world class talent, bold creativity, and groovists under one sky.

Doors opened at 12:00, and from the first beat, the venue buzzed with sizzling  energy, sunshine, and the unmistakable scent of summer. As the headline sponsor, Smirnoff ICE brought the party to life with an immersive activation zone where guests could sip the brand’s crisp, fruity flavours, snap thumb stopping moments and take part in electrifying games that kept the vibe soaring.

The star studded lineup kept Cape Town moving from sunrise to its late sunset, featuring vibe shifting performances by Major League DJz, Kent, Kabza De Small, Dlala Thukzin, Maphorisa, Sam Deep, Que DJ, Lloyd & Sir Vincent. Each act poured their signature sound into the mix, showcasing the creativity that continues to push African music onto the world stage.
